Kathy Lucarino of Pennsylvania charged with stealing $270k of supplies

Police have filed charges against Kathy Lucarino, who they say made nearly $270,000 by selling stolen dentistry items online.

On September 20, 2023, police say they received a call claiming an employee may have been involved in defrauding their business.

Investigators said they spoke with a representative from Bright Solutions, who explained they discovered 50-year-old Kathy Lucarino from Pittston Township may have been selling their items that required a medical license to sell.

The employer told police Lucarino was in charge of preparing online orders for customers and maintaining stock levels. When they checked her work, they found Lucarino printed 181 labels using their business account worth $3,760.

About a week later, police say they obtained a search warrant for a package Lucarino was shipping to California and found 20 boxes of various teeth whitening kits inside that matched the purchase records.

Officers obtained search warrants for Lucarino’s eBay and PayPal accounts and found records of $265,252 worth of sales from March 31, 2018, to September 27, 2023. In total, $269,013.67 worth of products were stolen.

A review of court records show two charges for theft and receiving stolen property were made in September 2023 and then withdrawn.
